is it okay if I exercise today? I am suppose to be “resting” today?

all I’m doing is just sitting on my butt on the computer..I hate it..I feel lazy..

yesterday I did an intense workout,
1 hour on the elliptical
the day before I took 2 pilate classes, and this whole week i’ve been taking pilates and exercising..
I heard your body needs rest sometimes from exercise. But I just HATE sitting down all day..I went to the store with my mom to go for a little walk..

but I figured every hour or two..I’ll just get out of my chair. Do some lunges, sit ups. maybe 30 minutes on the elliptical or something.

Can too much exercise be harmful for me? what if I keep it light? maybe some stretching? my muscles don’t ache so I don’t see the reason to rest on exercise lol..

It depends on your body and how you feel. Everyone is different. Someone might only exercise 20 minutes a day, when someone else who is completely different is okay with exercising 2 hours a day or more.

What you need to do is KNOW your body. What is your body trying to tell you? I am sure after a certain point you have some symptoms of your body trying to tell you that you are doing too much. Once you find out the right limit for you, then you can base your exercise on that limit.

Here are the symptoms of too much exercise:

•Increased incidence of muscle injuries

•Muscle cramps and soreness are in more often

•Decreased performance

•Loss of coordination

•Headaches

•Prolonged recovery

•Elevated morning heart rate

•Elevated resting blood pressure

•Loss of appetite

•Disturbed sleep patterns
