Can high blood sugar cause chest pains?
It doesn’t appear to be my heart, which has been checked. But in the last few days chest pains have been bothersome to me. I am diabetic and it is usually controlled, but not always. When I was hospitalized over the weekend with the chest pains, my sugar was high. Could that be all it is?
Thank you for that info.
High blood sugar (from diabetes) will cause high cholesterol, which causes high blood pressure, which can cause chest pains.
AND . . . .
Chest pains can cause high blood sugar! your blood sugar will ALSO go high under periods of stress — which I am SURE you were during the time of the chest pain. Having chest pains screams “HEART ATTACK!” and so your adrenalin starts pumping — and your blood sugar goes up.
you have not given us enough informaton tio determine what caused what. Did the high blood sugar cause chest pains, or did the chest pains cause high blood sugar? No way to tell.
But it is for sure that your life WILL be better off if you make every possible effort to keep those blood sugars down.
